We are proud that we are working together for a better tomorrow for our dear kingdom, and one of the Kingdom’s most important achievements in the field of water desalination is the SWCC’s award (the best desalination company in the world for the year 2021) in the international competition organized by Global Water Intelligence (GWI), which is An international organization concerned with water affairs and research, and it organizes events and events that serve the international water industry, and (desalination) topped this achievement among government agencies and distinguished private companies in establishing, operating, developing and managing water projects all over the world.

The Kingdom’s winning of this award was announced through the platform of the virtual meetings Remo, as part of the annual ceremony that reviewed the important achievements that were implemented in the water industry in the year 2020, in the presence of delegations representing all the countries that participated in the competition. It is the highest honor in the World’s Best Water Company category, which recognizes only water projects that demonstrate the greatest innovation to improve their production or environmental footprint.

The Kingdom deserved this award for its leadership and the success of its activities during the year 2020, after it recorded the highest number of desalinated water production in the world at 5.9 million cubic meters of desalinated water per day, and achieved record numbers in reducing energy consumption to less than 2.27 kWh/m3 in The production systems that it manufactures and innovates by its national cadres, whether fixed or mobile. In addition to achieving rapid progress in the field of innovation of advanced technologies, such as energy recovery techniques and zero salt reflux technology, according to which precious metals were extracted and invested and converted into commodities of high economic value.

In addition, the qualitative efforts made by the Kingdom to enhance water resources and enhance natural resources, through investing in the efficiency of assets and developing technologies, within the strategy of enhancing local content and localizing and developing the desalination industry, in addition to initiatives to maximize the utilization of assets that enabled it to achieve significant savings for the country and increase production efficiency. By replacing the thermal technologies of the production systems with the most economical and environmentally friendly “reverse osmosis” technology, which contributed to doubling the production and supply of desalinated water. In addition to developing energy recovery technologies and raising their efficiency to reach 98.5%, an increase of more than 3%, and developing the efficiency of high pressure pumps to 95%, an increase of 10%.

For the year 2021 to culminate in a long list of successful achievements and efforts achieved by Tahlia last year, during which it overcame the effects of the Corona pandemic and its influential repercussions, and was able to complete all its quality projects several months ahead of time with the highest standards of efficiency and the best levels of performance, through its qualified national technical and engineering cadres. And its full commitment to the precautionary measures with the continuation of the pandemic, which are the achievements that have been achieved in the areas of enhancing water security and achieving the goals of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, thanks to God Almighty and then the continuous support of the rational leadership of the water sector, and the direct sponsorship of His Excellency the Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture.
