Installation and fixing instructions for FRP tanks

Installation and fixing instructions for FRP tanks must be done by a professional technician. So that you can benefit from all the advantages of FRP tanks that we explained in a previous article. FRP tanks are an essential part of the process of designing and building water treatment plants of various types. In our article today, we guide you to some of the most important installation and fixing instructions for FRP tanks. This will guide you in evaluating the current status of tanks in your facility.

Installation precautions

  1. Put sand at the bottom of the vertical flat-bottomed container
  2. Full contact with the sand at the bottom of the vertical flat-bottomed container is the main factor to ensure safe use, otherwise, it is easy to cause damage to the bottom corner and leakage.

Connecting the process pipe

  1. The process pipe connected to the container must be installed with a flange before the gallows, to prevent stress concentration on the flange of the container interface, causing damage.
  2. To avoid stress concentration after tightening the bolts. The tightening force of the bolts must be symmetrical and uniform.
  3. Connection to vibration equipment When the container is connected to other vibration equipment (such as between the inlet flange and the pump). The flexible connection should be used to avoid long-term vibration and damage to the FRP container.
  4. Connection to large equipment When the container is connected to other large equipment or when the large container is connected to other equipment, the flexible connection should be used to prevent the sinking of the equipment or the container foundation from causing damage to the interface flange.
  5. Connection of heavy fittings Valves and other heavy fittings installed on the containers should be supported separately.

Instructions and precautions for using the container

Normal pressure capacity

No pressure or negative pressure shall be pumped. The air holes shall be opened during the process of adding or discharging the liquid. It shall not be added or discharged in a closed state.

The conditions of use specified in the contract shall not be exceeded

The container is specially designed according to the conditions of use specified in the contract. The concentration and temperature of the storage medium shall not be changed at will, let alone the type of storage medium, without the permission of the supplier’s technical department.

Special accessories shall not be installed at will

Unless specifically required in the contract, large accessories, such as motors, special valves, or vibration equipment, shall not be installed. If these accessories are really required, they should be indicated in the contract to make a special design to ensure safety in use.

Should not be hit or scratched by hard objects

When entering the container for cleaning and maintenance, the operator must wear soft-soled shoes. Then when using the ladder, all points that touch the container should be covered with high-quality lining to prevent scratching the surface. When working around the container, avoid hitting the container with tools, scaffolding, and other hard objects

Keep away from fire

Under normal circumstances, FRP products should not be near the fire source.

Container maintenance

Fiberglass containers (especially the top head) are exposed to sunlight for several years. The exposed fiber surface (there are no such problems underground or indoors). The application of resin or paint to maintain the method to extend the life of the tank.

The user is responsible for quality problems arising from the installation and use of products that do not comply with the requirements.

Important instructions

After filling the container with water, keep the horizontal tank for 24 hours and the vertical tank for 40 hours to check whether there is leakage.

The flat-bottomed container is filled with water after placing the fine sand cushion on the bottom. After the test is completed, the anchor bolt hole is poured, and the fine sand retaining groove and the asphalt seal groove are filled.
